There's something I've learned in my short year and a half away from my family after they were taken from me through fire and death.
Family is what you make it.
Restricting yourself to only your "true family" may seem logical, but it shouldn't prevent you from seeking the help of others who care. As much as you separate yourself from your cousin's it is an idea they understand...though take a bit too far at times.
I offer you all I can and ask for nothing in return.
