I had considered a technological solution as the only natural solution I've found so far is holy power and that's not a solution so much as a stall.

Restricting yourself to only your "true family" may seem logical, but it shouldn't prevent you from seeking the help of others who care. As much as you separate yourself from your cousin's it is an idea they understand...though take a bit too far at times.
