I would think so. After all singing is art, art comes from emotion and the soul. It can serve a great many purposes.

So, what was your purpose?

It doesn't pay to make too many assumptions in my line of work.

Besides, some people just sing melancholy songs because they like it.

Then the proper solution is to prepare for it whatever your waiting for never comes and to find other things to dedicate yourself to so you're not always focused on it.
